How Soon do Symptoms Appear after Exposure

In most cases, symptoms appear 2-14 days after you’re exposed to the virus.

What Are the Symptoms of COVID-19?

COVID-19 symptoms and severity vary by person. Some infected people have mild cases, but others have more severe cases. Some people are even asymptomatic, which means they show no signs of infection. If you do not have symptoms, you can still spread the virus to others.

These are the symptoms you may notice after being exposed to COVID-19:

• Fever
• Chills
• Cough
• Fatigue
• Shortness of breath
• Muscle aches
• Headache
• Loss of taste or smell
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Congestion
• Runny nose
• Sore throat

If you notice any of these symptoms, you should seek COVID-19 testing near you. MI Health Clinic offers on-site testing and can give you guidance for treatment as well.

You may also notice emergency warning signs, which means you should go to the emergency room immediately. Emergency signs include trouble breathing, pain or pressure in the chest, and inability to stay awake.
