Wound Care in Saginaw, MI

If you have a wound and need care, our team can help. At MI Health Clinic, we treat a variety of medical concerns, including wounds. Give us a call today to learn more about our offerings and how we can make a difference in your care.

What is Wound Care?

If you have a wound, you should seek wound care. You may be wondering what wound care is and how it can help. Wound care includes every step of the healing process, from diagnosing the wound type to finding the proper treatment.

When you come in to receive wound care, our team will give you additional information. Don’t hesitate to ask questions. We are here to help you recover from your injury.

First, your wound will be examined. We will look at the size, depth, type of drainage, and more. Then, we will find a treatment plan. You may need medication for an infection. In some cases, patients may be given dietary suggestions to promote oxygenation.

We will also clean and bandage the wound. We will show you how this is done so you can keep it clean at home.

What Are the Wound Types?

There are several different types of wounds you may have. Our team is prepared to help with the following types of wounds.

The lowest level of a wound is an abrasion, which is a minor wound with little bleeding.

The next level is a puncture or hole in the skin. This type of wound may bleed. In some cases, puncture wounds can damage the internal organs.

A laceration is another type of wound. It’s a deep cut that causes heavy bleeding.

The last wound level is an avulsion, which also has heavy bleeding. Tissue must be removed to heal this type of wound.

Depending on the severity of the wound, you will need more intensive care. For example, abrasions require little to no care to heal. Avulsions, on the other hand, may need surgery.

To learn more or to schedule an appointment, call MI Health Clinic. Our friendly team of healthcare providers is here to care for you and your family whenever you need us. We offer wound care and other medical care near you.
